We had a rare moment at our house today – our leftover fruit just HAPPENED to be the same fruits used in our demo green smoothie. It’s super fitting for this to be our first post, because as demonstrators, this is our favorite recipe to show customers at our booth, and, as you get to know us, you’ll understand just how important these types of recipes are to us!
Demonstration Green Smoothie
1 orange, with pith
1-inch disk pineapple (or 2 cups)
1 slice lime
3+ cups spinach
1 cup ice
Blend all ingredients until smooth, about 1 minute
Not gonna to lie…we are pretty lazy when we’re at home, so our green smoothies are usually whatever greens and fruit we have laying around in our fridge. Therefore, this was a pretty momentous occasion!
The past few days have been spent eating out with out-of-town family, and our bodies were screaming for something more wholesome. This green smoothie certainly hit the spot.
Green smoothies are a great way to rejuvenate. If you ever find yourself feeling sluggish, try making a green smoothie! This one is made with fruits (orange, banana, pineapple, lime) and our best friend, SPINACH (a whole pound!). If you’ve ever caught us at our demos, you’ll notice that we like to pack in the greens more than other demonstrators…hehe. If you’re just trying this out for the first time, you can add in a dollop of honey or a squirt/pinch/dash of your choice sweetener; we usually forego adding any extra sugars because the fruit is enough for us, but recently our favorite way to add sweetness is by using soaked dates! More on this in another post 🙂 I also added a sprinkle of sunflower seeds, because Will is supposed to add them to his diet but doesn’t like to eat them.
This is a GREAT beginner’s smoothie, because it’s sweet from the fruit and you can’t taste any of the greens. Since we are used to drinking these, we can’t taste the greens at all; if a pound of spinach is too much for you, just add in a handful or two, and work your way up. You’ll be feeling so great so soon that you’ll be ITCHING to throw in more greens!
